Building consent is required for new foundations, drainage, services, and any structural alterations. However, the relocated house itself does not need to be entirely brought up to the current Building Code (Section 112, Building Act 2004). Relocated houses do not require any council inspections during the move unless structural changes are made. Only foundations need council sign-off, which removes a massive layer of risk for lenders.

No major renovations, structural changes, or layout changes are included. The house is relocated and placed as-is. Any upgrades can be arranged after the Recycled Homes package is completed and CCC is achieved. This keeps the process simple and limits risk for the bank and the client.
